Picnic Information & Parking Permit

For those of you joining us for the picnic on July 2nd, we've got a little extra information for you.

To park at Taughannock Falls State Park, use this parking permit to avoid paying for parking.  When you first drive into the park, you'll need to stop at the information booth and give them this pass. To get to the booth, take the first right turn from Route 89 after entering the park. They'll exchange it for a valid parking pass and you'll be on your way! Get back on Route 89 and drive over the bridge (about 30 seconds), then take the next right turn to get to the Lakeside Pavilion. A map of the park is included with the parking pass in case you need it.

Once you're at the Pavilion, relax and enjoy! Feel free to bring any games, musical instruments, or other activities. You can also take a hike to the falls (2-3 miles round trip, depending on the trail you take) or go swimming (1/4 mile away). We'll be there at about 4:00 p.m., but the pass is good all day - so feel free to get there early!

See you there!

Registry Information

Everyone,
We're so excited to have everyone to Ithaca for our wedding!  We realize that everyone is traveling to be there, which takes time and expense. By no means do we expect gifts - having you there will be all we need!

Should you feel an insatiable urge, however, we've picked out a few things that we'd love. We're registered at these places:

Heath Ceramics - Local to the Bay Area, Heath has been handmaking ceramics since the '50s. They have a great story and we've ogled their designs since we moved to San Francisco. www.heathceramics.com

Crate & Barrel - We love to cook! Dan is our household chef extraordinaire, and Claire loves to bake.

Amazon -  We had a few specific kitchen items in mind that we could only find here.

REI - Camping is our biggest hobby, especially now that we live out on the western frontier. We picked out a little gear to make camping more comfortable (and less freezing for Claire). www.rei.com/giftregistry

We're also big fans of charitable donations as gifts. The truth is that we have almost everything that we need, and giving something to those who don't is a wonderful way to celebrate.  Choose any place you think does good for the world, and we'll be very pleased! A few of our favorites are:

The Nature Conservancy - They create preserves all over the world, focusing on key habitat. They are great at forming public-private partnerships to protect lands. Plus, Claire used to volunteer at their preserve on Shelter Island, NY.  www.nature.org/joinanddonate/donate/?src=l2
World Wildlife Fund - They focus on preservation of endangered species all over the world.  www.worldwildlife.org/ogc/index.cfm
Doctors Without Borders - They send medical help around the world, to respond to crises and to help regions without medical care. www.doctorswithoutborders.org/donate/?ref=main-menu
